Up to date, from experience

Aiden achieved grade 9s in maths, further maths and physics; grade 8s in chemistry and biology; and grade 7 with Distinction in English. He has been through today's GCSE papers himself, so lessons match current courses and question styles.

More than one way to explain

Every topic gets more than one route: diagrams, worked examples, real-life comparisons, smaller steps. If one way does not click, we try another until your child can do it without help. That is where confidence comes from.

GCSE grade comparison
Current 9–1 scalePrevious A*–G scale
9–7A*–A
6–4B–C
3–1D–G

The scales are not directly equivalent; comparable anchor points are 7/A, 4/C and 1/G.

How lessons work

Three steps, repeated until things click.

  1. Find the gaps

We start with classwork, recent tests and the topics causing stress, so lessons target what actually needs fixing.

  2. Teach the next step

Worked examples, quick checks and short practice, so new ideas stick before we move on.

  3. Build confidence

Mistakes become useful rather than embarrassing, and revision becomes a routine instead of a panic.

The goal is simple: less stuck, more prepared, more willing to try.
